The new streaming series from FIRST FILMS, “Whatever Happened to Hollywood?” is based on the memoirs of Jesse Lasky Jr. who grew up as the son of the man who produced Hollywood’s first film in 1912, Jesse L. Lasky whose company became Paramount.

Lasky Jr. worked through the ‘golden age’ writing for some of the greatest directors, producers and stars, including eight films for Cecil B. DeMille. The theme song by composer Richard Niles, stepson of Lasky Jr., expresses the loss felt by those who knew the old studio system. The singer is respected L.A. performer, Katie Ward.
